We reconvene in the early days of the New Year to preview - review - and clue you in.
Kevin previews the latest installment of his ongoing coverage of local Fire services - including some of the dramatic cost increases to necessary, backbone equipment like engines and ambulances. We discuss the evolving state of negotiations and share some insight from our own lives.
We discuss the main areas of Kevin’s city preview as part of our ongoing engagement with these local issues. Topics discussed include the Community Center (The Well) and Plan (Big Darby, Downtown, Cemetery Road, I-270 corridor). We talk the moves made by the city to more directly involve itself in local economic growth via inward focused utilization, subsidy, and long-term planning. We wrap up this section with a discussion of the expansion of police services.
We then move to discussion of goals that all three of us have for The Hilliard Beacon as we approach our full year anniversary in February. We need to retain our paid subscribers. We need to add paid subscribers who understand the value their support will provide to this ongoing project. And lastly, add more FREE subscribers who want to join the local conversation we have on offer and expand it to local athletics, entrepreneurship, and beyond.
We almost didn’t bang on the table this week.
