Evergreen Tradition Marks Beginning of Loaded Holiday Schedule
The City of Hilliard Christmas tree lighting celebration- the 34th annual lighting- is 4 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Hilliard’s Station Park, at Center and Main streets, in Old Hilliard.
Additional activities are to be held at the historical village Weaver Park, adjacent to the Franklin County Fairgrounds, 4100 Columbia Street.
Free parking is available at the fairgrounds, the Makoy Center, 5462 Center St., and the parking lot at Madison and Wayne streets.
Entertainment in the Old Hilliard district includes a holiday train ride for children, a petting zoo, ice-sculpting, face-painting, a fire juggler, stilt-walkers, and horse-and-carriage rides for kids and adults.
Choirs from a variety of Hilliard schools will be giving live performances of traditional carols and holiday songs as well.
Activities at Weaver Park will include a DJ, a live snow globe, and a writing station for emergency dispatches to Santa Claus.
